Why I’m Obsessed with Raw Cacao — And You Might Be Too

In collaboration with Natures Joint (including the link to https://www.naturesjointcacao.com/

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m all about nourishing the body with nature’s goodness — and one of my absolute favourite superfoods right now is raw cacao. Not to be confused with your average hot chocolate mix, this is the real, unprocessed deal — and trust me, your body can feel the difference.

Thanks to my collaboration with Natures Joint, I’ve been exploring the many ways raw cacao can be used to support our health holistically — and I’m so excited to share some of that with you.

 What is Raw Cacao?

Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing unroasted cacao beans, preserving their natural enzymes and powerful nutrients. It’s rich in magnesium, antioxidants, iron, and mood-boosting compounds like theobromine and phenylethylamine (a.k.a. the “bliss molecule”).

In simple terms? It’s chocolate in its purest form — but way more nourishing.

Why I Love It (and You Might, Too)

Here’s why I’ve added it to my daily rituals:

  • Mood & Energy Boost: Raw cacao naturally increases serotonin and endorphins — the feel-good chemicals. It's perfect for those mid-afternoon slumps or to elevate your morning without caffeine jitters.

  • Heart & Hormone Support: Packed with magnesium, raw cacao supports heart health, muscle function and can help soothe PMS symptoms.

  • Antioxidant Powerhouse: It has more antioxidants than blueberries, helping reduce oxidative stress and inflammation.

  • Gut-Friendly: When paired with warm plant milk and a pinch of cinnamon, it can be a soothing, nourishing tonic for your digestion.

How I Use Nature's Joint Raw Cacao

Natures Joint has truly captured the richness and integrity of raw cacao — the quality is stunning. Here are a few ways I love using it:

  • Morning ritual: A warm cacao latte with oat milk, cinnamon, and a dash of maple syrup

  • Smoothie booster: Add a spoonful to your post-workout blend

  • Cacao energy balls: Mixed with dates, nuts, and a pinch of sea salt — divine

  • Pre-menstrual support drink: Warm cacao + maca root + ashwagandha = magic

A Holistic Ritual, Not Just an Ingredient

For me, using raw cacao is more than just a health trend — it’s a grounding, heart-opening practice. I often sip it slowly, journal in the mornings, or enjoy it as a mid-evening wind-down that feels indulgent yet deeply nourishing.
